Sorah Quraish - Verses Number 4

لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ ( 1 )

For the accustomed security of the Quraysh -

إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ ( 2 )

Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer -

فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَٰذَا الْبَيْتِ ( 3 )

Let them worship the Lord of this House,

الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍ ( 4 )

Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear.

He does not beget, nor is He begotten. There is no equal to Him, and there is nothing like unto him, and thus He alone deserves to be worshipped. In essence, the religion as revealed1 to nations before us and to mankind up to the Day of Resurrection, calls for the worship of none but God (Allah).

Enjoining Good, Forbidding EvilIbn Taymiyyah said: "This (enjoining good and forbidding evil) is a duty that the entire Ummah is obliged to fulfil. It is what the Ulama know as an obligation of collective responsibility, if a group in society undertook to discharge it, the other members of this society are absolved from it.
